BACOLOD City – The City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) here encouraged taxpayers to pay in advance to avail themselves of a discount.
City Treasurer Arlene Memoria said those paying their 2024 real property tax (RPT) until Dec. 30 of this year could be granted a 20 percent discount.
But if they pay their 2024 RPT by March of next year, they could only avail of the 10 percent discount, she added.
The CTO emphasized that penalties will be imposed on taxpayers after the discount period has lapsed.
For business permits, meanwhile, Memoria said owners that pay on or before Jan. 20, 2024, can avail of the 10 percent discount.
After which, a 25 percent surcharge will be implemented for late payments, she added.
But Memoria clarified that if the Sanggunian passes a resolution extending the deadline for the processing and payment of the business permit, the surcharge will be removed.
Meanwhile, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said the yearly conduct of the Business One-Stop-Shop will still be held at Ayala Malls Capitol Central./PN
