ILOILO – The provincial government, through its Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), has initiated the distribution of a P4,000 cash incentive to 14,529 barangay volunteer workers across Iloilo.

The recipients of this incentive include 8,766 Barangay Health Workers (BHW), 2,218 Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO), 1,820 Day Care Workers (DCW), and 1,725 Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS).

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. allocated a total of P58,116,000 this year for the allowances of these barangay volunteer workers.

PTO personnel have been actively managing the disbursement process by visiting each congressional district on pre-arranged dates.

The schedule for the payouts in each district is as follows:

* Dec. 19 – 4th District

* Dec. 20 – 3rd District

* Dec. 22 – 1st District

* Dec. 27 – 2nd District

* Dec. 28 – 5th District

According to the PTO, this annual cash incentive is given in recognition of the volunteer workers’ significant contributions to the success of health, population, and social welfare programs under the provincial government.

The first recipients of the P4,000 cash incentive were the barangay volunteer workers from the 4th District, who received their payments on Dec. 19./PN
