ILOILO City – A couple from Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala 1, City Proper was arrested for possession of 19 sachets of suspected shabu following a drug buy-bust operation held at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21.
The alleged illegal substances weighed about 92 grams in total and had an estimated value of P625,000.
Arrested individuals identified as alias “Mayang,” 35, and alias “Cris,” 45, were reportedly live-in partners.
An undercover police operative was able to buy a sachet of suspected shabu from the two for P1,200.
The arrested couple is currently being held at Police Station 1 and will face charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Earlier on Monday, Feb. 19, two men from the same barangay were also apprehended for illegal drugs.
Suspects Steve John Tiongzon, 26, and Raffy Chan, 40, yielded 110 grams of suspected shabu worth P748,000./PN
