ILOILO – Western Visayas’ most wanted person was apprehended in Barangay Paclolo, Magsaysay town in Occidental Mindoro.
The arrest of 51-year-old “Romeo,” reportedly a former rebel, took place at 4:53 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
He was served by joint police personnel from Antique and Mindoro with the arrest warrants issued by the Hon. Josefina Fulo Muego, presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court 6, Branch 13 in Culasi, Antique, dated May 4 and April 24, 2023.
Recommended bail was set at P200,000 for each of the two counts of violations under Republic Act (RA) 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, and P72,000 and P2,000 for the violations under RA 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004.
The arrested individual is currently under the custody of Caluya Municipal Police Station, where appropriate arrangements are being made before turning him over to the court of origin for further legal proceedings./PN
