ILOILO City – A police officer was arrested in Barangay General Hughes, City Proper for gun-toting.
The police officer is a Police Non-commissioned Officer assigned to the Police Regional Office 6.
He also reportedly hails from Roxas City, Capiz, and was only recently reassigned to Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, allegedly due to frequent reports of his aggressive conduct.
“Toto,” 22; and “Brix,” 23, who were having a drinking session at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, had a confrontation with the police officer.
It allegedly stemmed from a child who reportedly crossed the street and whom the suspect almost ran over with his motorcycle.
The police also allegedly poked the gun while introducing himself to another person, a certain “Allan,” 30, who saw the confrontation.
A patrol vehicle of Iloilo City Police Station 1 chanced to pass by, leading to the suspect’s immediate arrest.
A caliber .9MM pistol loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition was recovered from the suspect.
The suspect, who was reportedly drunk when the incident happened, may face charges for grave threat./PN
