MANILA – Active senior members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) are allegedly involved in an ouster plot against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

According to former senator Antonio Trillanes IV, the senior PNP members have been recruiting members to take part in the planned unseating of Marcos.

He also linked former president Rodrigo Duterte to the alleged plot.

“May na-identify na active senior PNP officials na nagre-recruit since last year, pero wala pa silang nare-recruit,” Trillanes said in a press conference on Tuesday.

Trillanes added some retired officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are also attempting to recruit active soldiers in the ouster plot against the Chief Executive.

The former senator further said that there is sense of urgency to unseat Marcos, claiming that International Criminal Court (ICC) is expected to issue an arrest warrant against Duterte by June or July.

Mga four to five times na nila tinangkang pabagsakin, pero ngayon siguro it’s a matter of survival na meron na silang sense of urgency to oust President Marcos,” Trillanes said.

“Therefore, sino ang papalit? Vice President ang anak niya,” Trillanes added, referring to Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio.

This is not the first time that Trillanes has accused former President Duterte of plotting against Marcos, but the former senator has not shown proof./PN
