
ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) seized P10.1 million worth of illegal drugs in month-long operations.
IPPO data showed that from April 19 to May 19 this year, different police units carried out 41 anti-drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 47 drug peddlers and confiscation of around 1,487.34 grams of shabu valued at P10,113.912.
Of those arrested, 13 were classified as high-value individuals.
Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, IPPO director, added that IPPO tracker teams conducted 96 manhunt operations, which led to the arrest of 96 fugitives – 15 of whom were most wanted persons.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, IPPO caught 28 individuals and seized P16,173 bet money from 15 operations.
Additionally, Iloilo police conducted 11 successful operations against loose firearms, leading to the arrest of 10 persons and confiscation of nine firearms without pertinent documents.
The enforcement of Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang also yielded 37 unlicensed firearms while seven firearms with expired licenses were temporarily deposited at police stations for safekeeping.
Further, the IPPO and Bantay-Dagat taskforces carried out seven anti-illegal fishing operations that led to the apprehension of 19 fishermen and impounding of 10 fishing vessels.
In the campaign against illegal quarry, 23 police and Provincial Task Force Anti-Overloading operations resulted in the arrest of 26 drivers and holding of their trucks loaded with sand, gravel and other quarry materials.
Razalan acknowledged the dedication of the IPPO men and women as well as the support of the community.
