BACOLOD City – A barangay kagawad was stabbed while sleeping inside his house in Purok Maalikaya, Barangay Canjusa, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental.
Fernando Jacildo, 66, succumbed to multiple stab wounds.
He was rushed to a hospital in Valladolid town but later died while receiving treatment.
Major Edfel Balibadlan, chief of the Pulupandan Municipal Police Station (MPS), identified the suspect as Gino Tormo, 32.
Balibadlan said the suspect held a grudge against the victim.
The suspect was arrested thereafter and was detained at the Pulupandan MPS.
He will be charged with murder, the police chief added./PN
