ILOILO City – In manhunt operations from August 1 to 15, 2024, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) apprehended 310 wanted individuals across the Western Visayas.
The operation, involving 287 coordinated actions, targeted individuals with outstanding warrants in various categories.
The campaign led to the arrest of 44 “Most Wanted Persons” (MWP), which included six at the regional level, eight at provincial and city levels, and 30 at the station level.
Additionally, 266 “Other Wanted Persons” (OWP) were also detained during this period.
The Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office led with 137 arrests, followed by the Iloilo Provincial Police Office with 56.
The Bacolod City and Iloilo City Police Offices each contributed 24 arrests, while other provinces such as Antique and Capiz reported 30 and 19 arrests, respectively.
Guimaras and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 saw fewer arrests, contributing one and three, respectively.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of PRO-6, praised the concerted efforts of the tracker teams and their commanders.
“Congratulations and keep up the good work. The arrest of these law violators significantly contributes to reducing crime in our region,” said Wanky.
He also encouraged continued cooperation with the community to track down remaining fugitives.
The apprehended individuals have been handed over to the courts for further legal proceedings, marking a significant step in law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order in the region./PN
