ILOILO – A 50-year-old man was jailed at the San Dionisio Municipal Police Station (MPS) after he allegedly shot dead his nephew in Barangay Pase, San Dionisio town.
Alias “Joey”, a resident of the said barangay, was apprehended in the town’s Mt. Opao on Wednesday, August 28.
According to the San Dionisio MPS, the victim identified as alias “Jay-R”, 32, went to his uncle’s house around 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 25.
Police said the victim tried to hit the suspect with a cane but the latter retaliated by shooting him.
The victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
Recovered from the crime scene were one pellet of a 12-gauge shotgun and one live ammunition.
Land dispute was being eyed by the police as a possible motive in the killing./PN
