ANTIQUE – A buy-bust operation carried out by the Sibalom Municipal Police Station (MPS) resulted in the apprehension of a man identified as a high-value drug suspect.
The 34-year-old alias “JR,” 47, a resident of Barangay Bari, Sibalom town, was found in possession of P442,000 worth of suspected shabu.
The arrest took place around 12:55 p.m. on Monday, October 11, in the town’s Barangay Mabini.
According to Major Geremy Ian Magbanua, acting chief of the Sibalom MPS, they recovered a total of six heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu, P6,200 in buy-bust money and non-drug-related items.
Magbanua said JR gets his supply of illegal drugs from a source in San Jose de Buenavista town in this province, Iloilo and Bacolod City.
The suspect is now under the custody of Sibalom MPS pending further legal proceedings.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, Western Visayas’ top cop, commended the Sibalom police operatives for another successful operation against illegal drugs.
“We also recognized the support extended by the community and other stakeholders in our campaign. With them at our side, surely, those who engage in the illegal activity will be identified and be given appropriate police action,” Wanky added./PN
