BACOLOD City – The newly acquired P6 million worth of mobile command center has arrived in this city on Thursday, October 17.

Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan, head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), yesterday said that the mobile command center will be initially utilized during the highlight of the 45th MassKara Festival on October 27 – the street dance and arena competition – at the Paglaum Sports Complex.

It can also be used by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez for emergency meeting, Pornan said.

The mobile command center is equipped with computers, interactive television, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras. These cameras are linked to the command center in Barangay Taculing.

Pornan added that it can be used, too, for emergency cases and disaster response.

On the other hand, the construction of a permanent building for a command center in Barangay Taculing is currently ongoing. The CDRRMO has allocated a budget of about P60 million for it./PN
