Female student, minor nabbed for drugs in Pavia

ILOILO City – An 18-year-old female student and her 17-year-old boyfriend were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Ungka II, Pavia, Iloilo.

Alias “Glyde”, a resident of Barangay Pandac, and alias “Bryan” of Barangay Ungka II were caught around 7 p.m. on Friday, October 25, after handing P5,000 worth of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.

According to Pavia police chief Major Harold Rendora, it took them a week of monitoring before the buy-bust.

“The minor was the one who gave us the illegal drugs while the remaining drugs were recovered from Glyde who was our main target,” Rendora told Panay News.

Police seized a total of 25 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately P170,000.

Rendora added that based on intelligence report, the suspects’ supplier of illegal drugs was from Iloilo City and they are operating in barangays Ungka II and Pandac.

Glyde was detained at the Pavia Municipal Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The minor is now under the custody of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development, police said./PN
