Bago City Treasurer’s Office gets eight awards from DOF

BACOLOD City – The City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) of the Bago City Government in Negros Occidental won several awards during the recent 4th Quarter Regional Conference and Awarding for Top Performing Provinces, Cities and Municipalities of the Department of Finance’s Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Region 6.

On Monday, Dec. 2, City Treasurer Caruso Villaflor presented to Mayor Nicholas Yulo and Vice Mayor Ramon Torres the following awards received by the CTO:

* Top 1 among the 16 Cities in Region 6 based on the Year-on-Year Growth in Fees and Charges

* Top 1 among the 16 Cities in Region 6 based on the Year-on-Year Growth in Locally Sourced Revenue

* Top 1 among 1st-2nd Class Cities in Region 6 based on the Highest Locally Sourced Revenue in Fees and Charges

* Top 2 among the 16 Cities in Region 6 based on the Highest Collection Efficiency in Fees and Charges

* Top 3 among 1st-2nd Class Cities in Region 6 based on the Highest Locally Sourced Revenue

* Top 3 among 1st-2nd Class Cities in Region 6 based on the Highest Locally Sourced Revenue in Real Property Tax

* Top 3 among 1st-2nd Class Cities in Region 6 based on the Highest Locally Sourced Revenue in Business Tax and other taxes

* Top 3 among the 16 Cities in Region 6 based on the Year-on-Year Growth in Business Tax and other taxes.

The annual event is conducted by the DOF to recognize local government units (LGUs) for excellence in fiscal management, transparency and effective governance.

It evaluates cities based on revenue generation, budget utilization and compliance with financial regulations. It further aims to encourage LGUs to enhance public service delivery and promote economic growth.

Additionally, it fosters healthy competition among LGUs, motivating them to adopt sustainable policies and improve their overall performance, ultimately benefiting citizens and driving national development./PN
