ILOILO City – To empower local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the city and province of Iloilo, the second One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Hub was officially launched.
On December 26, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Iloilo led the opening of the hub located on the ground floor of Casa Real, Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
The initiative is a collaboration between DTI, the Integrated Entrepreneurs of Iloilo Philippines, Inc. (IEIPI), and the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Office of Iloilo Province.
The ceremonial signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) and ribbon-cutting ceremony were attended by DTI – Iloilo Provincial Director Ma. Dinda R. Tamayo, IEIPI President Catherine V. Taleon, LEDIP head EnP. Aulynn B. Yue Sin, and other key stakeholders.
The hub provides a venue for local entrepreneurs, referred to as “OTOPreneurs,” to showcase and market their unique products and services, reflecting the province’s culture, resources, and creativity.
The first OTOP Philippines Hub in Iloilo was inaugurated on December 28, 2021, at Balai Ilonggo, Iloilo Festive Walk Mall in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
This latest hub aims to further capacitate “OTOPreneurs” to innovate and produce market-ready products and services.
OTOP Philippines is a flagship program of the DTI and a priority stimulus initiative for MSMEs. It offers retail spaces to promote high-quality, community-inspired products that highlight local craftsmanship and culture.
This development emphasizes the strong partnership among DTI, local entrepreneurs, and the Iloilo Provincial Government. It also reinforces the province’s commitment to celebrating its rich culture, exquisite cuisine, and exceptional artistry through artisan products and services.
As Iloilo continues to position itself as a vibrant destination for food, culture, and hospitality, the new OTOP hub plays a vital role in supporting local businesses while promoting the province’s identity on a larger scale./PN
