
INDIANA Pacers leaned on the hot shooting of Myles Turner to defeat Detroit Pistons, 111-100, in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season on Thursday night (Friday morning in the Philippines) at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
Turner finished with 28 points, including eight three-point conversions, to go with three rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and an assist as the Pacers improved to a 23-19 win-loss slate.
Paskal Siakam added 26 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and four steals, while Tyrese Haliburton and Andrew Nembhard ended with 17 and 12 points, respectively, for Indiana.
The Pacers were scorching in the opening half as they established a 69-56 halftime lead, which later grew to its largest at 84-64 on conversions from Haliburton and Obi Toppin.
The Pistons countered with a run to cut the deficit to 86-92 early in the fourth period, but the Pacers stretched the lead to 105-92 on Turner’s trey with 3:12 left.
Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Pistons with 25 points. Cade Cunningham had 20 points and nine assists, and Jalen Duren racked up 17 points, 17 rebounds and two blocked shots. They dropped to a 21-20 record.
Meanwhile, Sacramento Kings averted a fourth quarter meltdown to defeat Houston Rockets, 132-127, over at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
Demae DeRozan spearheaded the offense with 33 points, including timely conversions in the fourth quarter that broke the 100-all deadlock, as the Kings improved to a 21-20 record.
Malik Monk added 26 markers, Domantas Sabonis had a near triple-double performance of 20 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists, while DeAarox Fox and Keegan Murray had 19 and 18, respectively.
Filipino-American guard Jalen Green finished with 28 points to lead the Rockets, while Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson had 21 and 20 points, respectively, as they dropped to a 27-13 record./PN
