ILOILO City – Cong. Jojo Ang of Uswag Ilonggo Party-list led the groundbreaking ceremony for a new military facility, funded with a total budget of P349.5 million. The ceremony was held on January 31 at Camp General Macario Peralta Jr. in Jamindan, Capiz.
The groundbreaking marks the beginning of construction for several new facilities aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency and welfare of the Philippine Army.
The planned developments include a multipurpose building, an administration building, an officers’ apartment, and two enlisted personnel apartments. These facilities are designed to provide a more conducive environment for soldiers stationed at the camp, ensuring they have the necessary infrastructure to effectively perform their duties.
In his speech during the ceremony, Cong. Ang emphasized the importance of recognizing the efforts of the Philippine Army in maintaining peace and order in the community. He reiterated that providing the right facilities for military personnel is a crucial step in supporting their mandate and responsibilities.
“We firmly believe that a safe, peaceful, and crime-free community leads to greater progress for everyone,” said Cong. Ang.
In partnership with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and the local government unit (LGU) of Jamindan, this initiative reflects a commitment to strengthening the country’s security forces and ensuring that military personnel are well-equipped.

Camp General Macario Peralta Jr. serves as the headquarters of the 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, which oversees military operations in Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, and Negros Oriental.
With these new facilities, the 3rd Infantry Division will have enhanced resources to support its personnel and improve overall operational effectiveness. This development is expected to significantly contribute to the morale and welfare of soldiers, ensuring they have access to better accommodations and administrative support.
Cong. Ang expects this project to bolster the Philippine Army’s capabilities, reinforcing its mission to protect and serve the people while fostering a safer and more progressive society for all./PN
