Bacolod City drug sting nets P3 million worth of shabu

BACOLOD City – Antidrug operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized approximately P3,060,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested a high-value drug suspect in a pre-dawn operation yesterday in Barangay Banago here.

The 50-year-old alias “Rod”, an unemployed resident of Barangay Taculing, was found in possession of five knot-tied plastic bags and five plastic sachets containing the said illegal substance.

Officers of the BCPO – Drug Enforcement Unit said the suspect is now in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Following the successful buy-bust operation, the BCPO emphasized that the crackdown on illegal drugs remains its top priority. It urged the public anew to cooperate and report any suspicious activities in their communities.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier General Jack Wanky, commended the operatives for their relentless efforts in the fight against illegal drugs.

“This successful operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our subordinate units and of the PRO-6 as a whole to end the problem of illegal drugs. We also recognize the support extended by different stakeholders in our aggressive war against this societal menace,” Wanky added./PN
