BACOLOD City – The 29th Panaad sa Negros Festival ended on a high note Sunday night, March 30, capping a week-long celebration that drew thousands of Negrenses and generated more than P16 million in sales.

Figures released by the organizers yesterday showed total sales reached P16.6 million, coming from the local government unit (LGU) pavilions, trade fair, organic village, livestock and dairy fair, garden show and food concessionaires.

The highest sales were recorded on Sunday, hitting P4.850 million.

During the opening day on March 24, sales amounted to P1.859 million; March 25 – P1.603 million; March 26 – P1.295 million; March 27 – P1.954 million; March 28 – P2.26 million; and March 29 – P2.776 million.

The annual “festival of all festivals”, named after the Hiligaynon word for vow or promise, showcased the culture, tradition and products of the 32 LGUs of Negros Occidental, including the highly-urbanized Bacolod City, at the Panaad Park and Stadium in this city.

In his message during the closing ceremonies held Sunday night, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said “each moment of the festival has been a testament to the strength, creativity, and unity of the Negrenses.”

“Your dedication and support have once again made this festival a resounding success,” he said.

He commended the concessionaires and exhibitors for their dedication in bringing the flavors, crafts, and homegrown products of Negros Occidental to the spotlight.

“Your contributions make Panaad not only a festival, but an economic and cultural showcase,” he added.

Meanwhile, Festival director Charina Magallanes-Tan said the Panaad sa Negros 2025 has been nothing short of extraordinary as it celebrated the very essence of being Negrenses.

“Behind the vibrant festivities, performances, and the bustling Panaad Park, there were months of planning, coordination, and teamwork. Our beloved Negrenses, thank you for your overwhelming support and participation,” she said. (PNA)
