KAPUSO actor Ruru Madrid was rushed to the hospital in the middle of their taping for his series after he injured his hamstring. He shared to his followers on social media how painful it was but is positive that he will bounce back from the injury.

According to Mayo Clinic, a hamstring injury often occurs to people who are active in sports which involves sprinting with sudden stops.

Ruru recalled how he immediately felt something was wrong the moment his leg gave out and couldn’t continue running. His worst fears came to reality once the doctor confirmed and diagnosed him with the hamstring injury.

“Life has a way of testing you when you least expect it. Kahapon, habang nagte-taping para sa ‘Lolong’, I was giving it my all — full speed — then suddenly, pop. Alam kong may mali. My leg gave out, and I couldn’t continue. Got rushed to the hospital, and the doctor confirmed I pulled my hamstring,” he shared.

Despite having injured his hamstring, the extent of his injury has yet to be shared with the public. Having a Grade 3 strain could lead the Kapuso actor to have a longer period of recovery due to the tear that his leg incurred.

Masakit? Oo. Pero mas masakit ‘yung pakiramdam na kailangan kong huminto. All I could think about was my team, the scenes we still have to finish, and how much I wanted to push through. But that’s the reality of doing action — sometimes, your body reminds you that you’re only human,” he added.

Ruru maintained that this is only a setback for him and assured his fans that he will be bouncing back from this – not only for him but for everyone who believes in him.

Friends and fans sent their get well messages to the actor in the comment section. Other netizens shared how strong the actor is despite the injury.

“Despite everything, I will forever be grateful to God. His plans are always greater than mine, and I trust in His timing and purpose. To God be the glory. This is just part of the journey. And trust me, I’m coming back stronger. See you soon,” he ended. (Push Team)
