
BACOLOD City – Drug enforcement teams seized more than P14 million worth of suspected shabu in separate operations in Calatrava, Negros Occidental and in this highly-urbanized city on Monday evening and Tuesday morning, respectively.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6’s Special Enforcement Team-Bravo arrested alias “Khent”, 23, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bantayanon, Calatrava around 10:45 p.m. on Monday.
Operatives found in his possession two vacuum-sealed plastic packs containing two kilograms of shabu worth P13.6 million.
The suspect will be charged with violation of Article II, Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested three individuals during a buy-bust operation at a residence in Deca Homes South Bacolod in Barangay Tangub.
The suspects were identified as aliases “Kiel”, 44; “Silveno”, 29; and “Ken”, 37, all residents of the city’s Barangay Cabug.
They yielded about 65 grams of shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P442,000.
Charges for violation of Sections 5, 11 and 26 (conspiracy) of RA 9165 are being readied against the suspects. (PNA)
