‘Shabu’ worth over P1.5M seized in Arevalo drug bust

ILOILO City – Authorities confiscated more than P1.5 million worth of suspected shabu during a major anti-drug operation in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Arevalo district over the weekend.

Operatives from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) also arrested three high-value suspects identified as aliases “Isboy,” 49; “Reniel,” 26; and “Jerson,” 27, and alias “Sherwin,” 45, classified as a street-level target, around 8:10 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 26, at Fatima Subdivision.

A total of 225 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P1,530,000 were recovered.

Initial police reports said that Isboy, Reniel and Jerson conspired to sell a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P12,000 in marked money. Sherwin, meanwhile, was caught in possession of suspected illegal drugs during the operation and was arrested separately.

Authorities described the seizure as a major blow to the illegal drug operations in the city.
