ANTIQUE – The government’s Walang Gutom Program implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) targets to serve 3,562 food-poor Antiqueño households for its redemption activity this April.
DSWD program information officer Lovella Mondana said the National Household Targeting System or the Listahanan 3 identified the targeted household beneficiaries as food-poor or experiencing hunger but were not included in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
“We target to enable all the 3,562 household beneficiaries to avail of the DSWD’s Walang Gutom program before April 28,” she said.
Under the program, beneficiaries claim food credits through Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards worth P3,000.
They can use the card to purchase rice, vegetables, eggs, and other food items to alleviate hunger and malnutrition.
The DSWD kicked off the redemption activity this month in the municipality of Sibalom, followed by the towns of Hamtic, San Jose de Buenavista, Sebaste, Pandan, and Barbaza.
The target household beneficiaries are from the 17 towns of the province.
