BCPO nets 27 suspects, P2.6M worth of ‘shabu’ in weeklong ops

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office’s (BCPO) relentless weeklong campaign against all forms of criminality resulted to the apprehension of 27 suspects and seizure of more than P2 million worth of illegal drugs.

From April 28 to May 4, officers of the BCPO led by Colonel Joeresty Coronica caught 15 drug suspects and seized around P2,693,480 worth of suspected shabu weighing 396.1 grams from nine buy-bust operations.

One most wanted person and three tagged as other wanted persons were also nabbed from four operations.

In the campaign against loose firearms, cops apprehended two suspects and recovered two firearms. Also, six firearms were voluntarily surrendered.

Additionally, six individuals landed in jail for illegal gambling.

The BCPO, in a statement, said it continues to uphold its commitment to ensuring a peaceful and safe environment for the people of this city.

Coronica also emphasized the critical role of community cooperation in the campaign against illegal activities.

He further expressed optimism that BCPO’s continuing efforts will inspire its personnel to further strengthen their commitment to ensuring that Bacolod City remains a safe place to live, work, and do business./PN
