The Social Security System (SSS) brought government services closer to the remote communities in Guimaras Island through the SSS E-Wheels last May 19 and 20.

SSS Iloilo Central branch visited Barangays San Antonio and San Roque, both located in the Municipality of Nueva Valencia, to provide services to registered members, pensioners and soon to be members.

“These mobile service units are instrumental in bridging the distance, ensuring that our members and pensioners in far flung areas have convenient access to essential SSS services and information,” said SSS Vice President for Visayas West 2 Division Angelo O. Blancaver.

More than 100 locals were assisted in their Social Security (SS) Number application, membership registration, member data change requests, verification of member records, generation of Payment Reference Number (PRN) for real-time posting of their contributions, and My.SSS online account registration. The team also conducted benefit orientation sessions to inform members of their entitlements as actively paying SSS members.

“Reaching out to these communities will secure member’s social security coverage, fostering a greater sense of financial inclusiveness and protection for their future and that of their families. The SSS E-Wheels are not just vehicles, they are pathways to a more secure and equitable Philippines,” Blancaver concluded.

The SSS E-Wheels program is part of the agency’s commitment to bring social security services closer to underserved and geographically isolated areas. It aims to ensure that members and their beneficiaries have access to essential protection in times of need—covering contingencies such as sickness, maternity, disability, unemployment, death, funeral, and retirement.

As of April 30,2025, the 5 branches under the SSS Visayas West 2 Division (Iloilo Central, Iloilo Molo, Roxas, Antique and Kalibo) have successfully conducted Seventy (70) E-Wheels activity and has served a total of 4,459 participants with a total of 9,821 transactions.
