MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has committed to delivering “significant and tangible” reforms in the remaining three years of his term, aiming to leave behind a legacy of improved quality of life for Filipinos.
In the latest episode of his official podcast released on Saturday, Marcos emphasized that enhancing the lives of ordinary Filipinos remains the centerpiece of his presidency.
“We’ve made a change for the better. This has been my guide in all the positions I’ve taken,” Marcos said.
“So, I absolutely insist that in 2028 when I leave this office, there are significant and tangible changes for the better and the life of a Filipino,” he added.
To ensure this goal, Marcos has pushed for a more rigorous evaluation system for government performance. He previously ordered quarterly assessments that include not only Cabinet secretaries and agency heads but also undersecretaries.
The President also reiterated his willingness to remove underperforming officials, stressing that public service must yield visible improvements.
“The worst thing that can happen is umupo ka doon sa posisyon mo na nagsilbi ka, umalis ka, walang pinagbago,” he said.
