CAPIZ – A total of 83 young Capisnons officially graduated from the JobStart 2025 program during a culminating ceremony and Job Matching Activity held at Robinsons Roxas in Roxas City.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the Capiz Public Employment Service Office (PESO), aims to equip young individuals with essential skills to ease their transition into the workforce.
The graduates completed a comprehensive ten-day life skills training program from June 2 to 17, covering both soft and core competencies such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and technical skills aligned with various industries. The training was designed to boost participants’ employability and job readiness.
The graduation ceremony on June 26 was led by Capiz PESO, under the leadership of PESO Manager John Leo Marco Beldia. Atty. Luvim D. Amores, Provincial Information Officer and concurrent head of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), represented Gov. Fredenil “Oto” Castro and delivered an inspiring message.
In his speech, Atty. Amores emphasized the value of perseverance and lifelong learning.
Engr. Jessel Valad-on, representing DOLE Capiz Field Office, also graced the event.
Following the ceremony, a job matching activity took place, offering graduates immediate employment prospects. Eight local private companies partnered with Capiz PESO to conduct on-site interviews for various positions, helping bridge the gap between training and employment while supporting local economic growth.
JobStart is implemented by local government unit-based PESOs in partnership with the private sector. It assists employers in meeting workforce demands by providing well-trained, enthusiastic, and job-ready youth.
The program is institutionalized under Republic Act No. 10869, or the “JobStart Philippines Act,” enacted on June 29, 2016./PN
