ROXAS City – In a display of speed and efficiency, the Roxas City Police Office recorded an impressive response time of just one minute and four seconds during an emergency simulation drill at People’s Park in Barangay Baybay.
The police team’s rapid arrival exceeded the standard five-minute response benchmark, highlighting their readiness and commitment to public safety.
The simulation, conducted under the supervision of Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office 6, forms part of a nationwide initiative backed by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Nicolas Torre III. The program emphasizes prompt responses to emergency calls made through the 911 hotline, aiming to strengthen public trust and ensure immediate law enforcement assistance.
In a local radio interview, Ligan attributed the successful drill to a strategic deployment system. Police officers are stationed at key areas around the city and rotated in eight-hour shifts, allowing for swift mobilization during emergencies.
“This proactive strategy enables our officers to respond faster and more effectively to any situation,” said Ligan.
The drill stands as a testament to the PNP’s commitment to protecting the community. By prioritizing quick response times, the Roxas City Police Office continue to reinforce their role as reliable first responders in times of crisis./PN
