ILOILO – To address persistent teacher shortages and improve the quality of instruction in public schools, the Iloilo Provincial Government is hiring 75 licensed elementary and secondary teachers for deployment across the province this School Year 2024–2025.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Provincial School Board (PSB), is open to all licensed teachers who are bona fide residents of Iloilo Province.
Hired applicants will receive a daily compensation of ₱545.45 for up to 22 working days each month and are expected to serve for a minimum of 10 months.
Applicants must submit a letter of intent addressed to the governor, a duly accomplished Personal Data Sheet (CS Form No. 212), a barangay-issued certificate of residency, a photocopy of their PRC ID, and certification from the Schools Division of Iloilo indicating they are on the list of Registered Qualified Applicants for SY 2024 onwards.
The application period runs from July 8 to 11, 2025, with all submissions to be made at the PSB Secretariat in the Office of the Governor.
Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ernesto Servillon Jr. emphasized that the move will significantly help narrow the gap in teacher availability across the province.
“Since I assumed office in May 2023, the provincial government has consistently hired teachers annually. This support is crucial,” he said.
The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Iloilo welcomed the provincial government’s move, noting its positive impact on public school education.
“This timely intervention will significantly address the existing gaps in teacher shortages, ensuring that more learners have access to quality education,” said DepEd Iloilo Information Officer Leonil Salvilla.
He added: “The additional teaching personnel will help reduce classroom overcrowding, improve the teacher-to-learner ratio, and enhance the delivery of instruction, especially in remote and underserved areas.
