CAPIZ – The provincial government here has officially opened applications for the Comprehensive Assistance Program for Identified Scholars (CAPIS) for the academic year 2025–2026.
The application period runs from July 21 to August 1, 2025.
CAPIS is a long-term scholarship initiative of the provincial government, under the leadership of Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, aimed at supporting poor but deserving college students in Capiz. It is anchored on the province’s policy to provide equal opportunities for qualified residents to pursue higher education, thereby uplifting not only the scholars and their families but also contributing to the development of the province.
The program specifically aims to protect and promote the right of Capiznons — especially the underprivileged — to quality and accessible education; establish an educational assistance program for qualified residents pursuing college degrees within Region 6; ensure a continuous and efficient delivery of assistance to scholars; broaden scholarship categories to accommodate more students; and help scholars complete higher education and become productive members of the community.
