
CAPIZ – Roxas City’s Mayor Ronnie Dadivas has been elected as the national vice chairperson of the League of Cities of the Philippines’ (LCP) National Executive Board during the organization’s 75th General Assembly at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
Dadivas’ election is a testament to the confidence and trust bestowed upon him by fellow mayors from all over the country, recognizing his exemplary leadership and dedicated public service.
In his acceptance remarks, Dadivas expressed his enthusiasm about joining the national leadership of the LCP. He emphasized that this new role will provide him with a vital platform to advocate for the needs and aspirations of Roxas City and other municipalities in Western Visayas, ensuring their voices are heard in national discussions.
“Ako nagapasalamat gid sa mga kaupdanan ko sa LCP nga nagsalig sa akon. Para ini sa inyo, Roxas City, Capiz, kag ini mangin inspirasyon ko pa gid agud padayon nga magtrabaho para mahatag ang pinakamaayo nga serbisyo sa inyo,” the city mayor said in a social media post.
San Juan City’s Mayor Francis Zamora was elected as the national president while Quezon City’s Mayor Joy Belmonte was voted as the national chairperson. Their leadership is expected to guide the league in pursuing its objectives and addressing the diverse challenges facing cities across the Philippines.
The LCP plays a crucial role in representing the interests and aspirations of cities throughout the nation. It serves as a platform for collaboration among local leaders, framing policies and programs that promote sustainable development, enhance local governance, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
Meanwhile, Uswag Ilonggo party-list’s Rep Cong. Jojo Ang extended his support and congratulations to the Roxas City mayor.
