
ILOILO City – Police apprehended two high-value suspects who yielded approximately P952,000 worth of suspected shabu in two separate buy-bust operations in this city and Iloilo province on August 8.
In Barangay Laguda, La Paz, Iloilo City, operatives of the Iloilo City Police Station 2 (ICPS2) arrested alias “Nonoy,” 38, a seller of fancy jewelry, and a resident of Barangay Ticud but temporarily residing in Barangay Rizal Lapuz Sur, Lapuz district, at 1:07 p.m.
Police found in his possession nine plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 55 grams and valued at P374,000, buy-bust money, and several non-drug-related items.
At around 2:01 p.m., alias “Arvie,” 21, single, jobless, and a resident of Barangay Nasugban, Santa Barbara, Iloilo, was also caught in the same barangay.
Joint operatives of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Teams 1 and 2 and Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Team recovered seven plastic sachets and one knot-tied plastic of suspected shabu. The said illegal drugs weighed approximately 85 grams and with a standard drug price of P578,000.
Both suspects are now under police custody, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
