ILOILO City – A buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Passi City, Iloilo led to the arrest of a high-value suspect and confiscation of suspected shabu valued at around P510,000.
The operation was carried out at 5:50 p.m. on August 20 by officers of the Passi City Police Station led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Benjo Clarite.
Police said the suspect, alias “Ron Ron”, 27, a tricycle driver and a resident of the city’s Barangay Quinagaringan, yielded one small heat-sealed and three big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 75 grams, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.
“This successful operation was the culmination of almost three weeks of intelligence gathering and validation based on information from concerned citizens,” police said.
Reports further revealed that the suspect sourced his illegal drug supply from Janiuay town.
The suspect was detained at the Passi City Police Station. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
