ILOILO City – This city’s 88th Charter Day celebration today will put people at the center, with free social, health, and livelihood services simultaneously offered in three districts, reaching thousands of residents in need.
Through the Atipan para sa mga Pumuluyo sa Syudad fair, government services will be brought closer to communities at the Molo, Jaro, and Arevalo plazas.
The Uswag Pag-Atipan Center will serve as a hub for programs benefiting children, women, senior citizens, and members of the LGBT community. Services include free medical and dental consultations, laboratory support, immunizations, and maternal care.
Also available are scholarships, job training, employment programs under the Public Employment Service Office and Department of Labor and Employment, livelihood assistance, and financial and burial aid.
Mayor Raisa Treñas said the initiative is designed to make public service inclusive and accessible. “This is a place for every Ilonggo who needs a listening ear, a helping hand, and a community that genuinely cares,” she stressed.
Alongside the service fair, the city government will also recognize Ilonggos who have excelled in various fields.
Carrying the theme “Celebrating 88 Years of Resilient Innovations for Sustainable Empowerment,” this year’s Charter Day highlights not only Ilonggo excellence but also the city’s commitment to deliver tangible services directly to its people./PN
