Iloilo’s No. 10 most wanted nabbed in Leon

ILOILO City – The No. 10 most wanted person in Iloilo province was arrested Tuesday evening, September 9, in Barangay Buga, Leon town.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Dio,” 49, of Barangay Morubuan, Cabatuan, Iloilo, was arrested on the strength of warrants for three criminal cases: violation of Republic Act (RA) 9156 (Illegal Possession of Explosives), which carries no bail; attempted murder, with bail set at P120,000; and violation of RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition), with bail set at P80,000.

He was arrested at around 6:45 p.m. by operatives of the 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, company commander, said the cases stemmed from incidents in Cabatuan town last year.

“When he learned that he had pending cases, he fled and hid in a friend’s house in Leon,” Solis said.

Captain Aileen Lacrite, Cabatuan police chief, said the arrest underscores the dedication of law enforcers to resolve cases and bring fugitives to justice.

She also commended the strong coordination among units of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office in tracking down wanted persons.

The suspect is now detained at the Cabatuan Police Station./PN
