
ILOILO City – Around 380 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2.5 million were confiscated from a high-value suspect in an anti-narcotics operation in Zone 2, Barangay Alegre, Oton, Iloilo, at 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, September 14.
Operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) seized the illegal substance from the suspect identified as alias “Dagul”, 36, single, and a resident of the said barangay, after he sold one plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P14,000 marked money.
Also seized were nine more plastic sachets and two plastic bags of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.
The successful operation was carried out in coordination with the Oton Municipal Police Station (MPS), Iloilo Police Province Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit, Philippine National Police’s Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit, and Regional Intelligence Division 6.
Police Major Marvin Villanueva, deputy chief of RPDEU-6, said the suspect was under surveillance for a month before the operation.
The suspect is currently under police custody and will be charged with violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
