BACOLOD City – Two motorcycle-riding gunmen shot and killed a man and wounded his brother on Monday morning, September 29, in Purok Active, Barangay Mandalagan here.
Police reported that the victims, identified by their aliases “Harold” and “Harley”, both residents of Barangay Mandalagan, were riding a blue Honda Click 125 motorcycle driven by Harley on their way home from their carinderia in Barangay Villamonte when two unidentified assailants on a red motorcycle without a plate number opened fire on them at around 8:40 a.m.
Harold succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound to his back that exited to his chest while his younger brother was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment after sustaining a gunshot wound in his upper back.
Major Rondly Tapang, commander of the Bacolod City Police Station 3, said they recovered an unknown caliber firearm and six rounds of ammunition from Harold’s sling bag.
As of this writing, police were still conducting a follow-up probe to determine the motive and identity of the perpetrators.
Tapang added that Harold’s firearm will undergo forensic testing. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
