Without denying or confirming his rumored romance with Kaila Estrada, Daniel Padilla appealed to fans to “just let it be,” saying he does not want to be “showbiz” about it.
Padilla addressed the much-talked about rumors during a conversation with entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, as seen in a video on The Filipino Channel‘s YouTube page on Wednesday, Oct. 15. The video was taken during Padilla’s recent trip to South Korea.
The topic was brought up after Felipe asked if Padilla has a girlfriend at the moment. “Kasi ‘di ba ‘yun ‘yung mga headlines — ‘yung kay Kaila?” (Because there have been headlines about you and Kaila [Estrada].)
Padilla initially let out a laugh as he acknowledged the dating speculations.
“’Wag nating i-pressure ‘yung mga sarili natin. ‘Wag na nating ilagay do’n sa gano’n — ayoko na rin na i-showbiz pa ‘yun. Sorry ha, pero you get my point?” he told the reporter.
(Let us not put pressure on ourselves. Let us not make it—I don’t want to be showbiz about it. Sorry, but do you get my point?)
Padilla said that while his relationship matters will inevitably come out eventually, he does not want the public to be fixated on waiting for him to speak up about it.
“’Wag niyo na muna kaming kulitin. Just let it be,” he continued.
“Hayaan nating mangyari ang mga bagay. Tsaka ‘yun nga, again, ayoko siyang maging showbiz eh. Well, hindi naman maiiwasan pero may choice pa rin naman ako, ‘di ba?” he added.
(Let things run its course. And again, I don’t want to be showbiz about it. Well, it is inescapable but I still have a choice, right?)
During the conversation, Padilla also underscored that he is happy especially because of his family and his recent achievements in his acting career.
Rumors linking Padilla and Estrada have started circulating as early as September after they were reportedly spotted together in several instances. This was further fueled by showbiz insider Ogie Diaz who cited unnamed sources claiming that the actors are already in a relationship.
Estrada has yet to publicly comment on the matter as of this writing.
