
AKLAN – A 52-year-old man died while his son was injured after their motorcycle collided with a truck around 11:50 p.m. on Friday, October 17, in Barangay Tagas, Tangalan town in this province.
According to the Tangalan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Ernito Masula was driving his motorcycle with his eight-year-old son on their way home to Barangay Panayakan when the accident occurred.
Upon reaching the curved portion of the road, the motorcycle bumped into an oncoming trailer truck driven by alias “Lando.”
The victims were thrown off the motorcycle, and Masula suffered grave injuries.
Rescuers from the Tangalan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, but the father was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Police said Masula’s son remained in the intensive care unit of the hospital as of Saturday, October 18.
The truck driver, meanwhile, was taken into custody by the Tangalan police as investigations continued./PN
