171 fugitives nabbed in WV

ILOILO City – A total of 171 fugitives were arrested across Western Visayas in October this year.

Data from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) showed that 129 operations were carried out from October 1 to 31, resulting in the apprehension of 47 individuals classified as most wanted persons, including the Top 10 most wanted at the regional level, and 124 tagged as other wanted persons facing various criminal charges.

“The arrest of all Top 10 regional most wanted persons sends a clear message — no one is above the law. Team PRO-6 remains steadfast in its mission to ensure peace and order in Western Visayas. We are truly kasaligan, kaagapay, kag kaapin sang Western Visayas,” PRO-6 director Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan said.

Ligan lauded the operating units for their dedication, teamwork, and relentless pursuit of justice that made the aforementioned arrests possible.

“I extend my deepest appreciation to all our personnel who took part in these operations. Your perseverance, sense of duty, and commitment to public safety truly reflect the ideals of service, honor, and justice. This success proves that with determination and unity, justice will always prevail,” he said.

He likewise recognized the vital role of the community in these accomplishments, stressing that public cooperation remains key to sustaining the region’s peace and order.
