
ILOILO – A 38-year-old farmer was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lumbo, Pototan, Iloilo.
The suspect identified as alias “Bonbon”, a resident of the said village, sold suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer around 5:22 p.m. on November 2.
The Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Pototan Municipal Police Station (MPS), under the leadership of Major Bryan Alamo, seized from the suspect approximately four grams of the said illegal substance valued at around P27,000.
Police said the suspect allegedly tried to evade arrest but was collared.
He is now in the custody of the Pototan MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Following the successful arrest, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Colonel Bayani M. Razalan emphasized their commitment to combat illegal drug activities in the province.
