ILOILO City – The Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) has a new director after Colonel Rhea Santos has been relieved from her post effective Friday, November 14.
Colonel Leonardo Borromeo has been named the new GPPO director. A native of Toboso, Negros Occidental, he was the former head of the Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Regional Logistics Research and Development Division (RLRDD).
Borromeo, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Magilas Class of 2000, said this is his first assignment as a provincial director, adding it’s a big challenge for him.
“This is a challenging assignment, but I will try my best to keep Guimaras a peaceful place through the help of the men and women of GPPO and other stakeholders,” Borromeo said.
Meanwhile, Santos, who was relieved from her post through General Order No. PRO6 – GO – DES – 2025 – 3374, will assume Boromeo’s post as RLRDD chief.
Santos served the people of Guimaras for one year and 10 months.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the local government units, stakeholders and the community for helping us during my stint,” she said.
Santos was also the former chief of RLRDD sometime in 2020 before she assumed post as Guimaras’ top cop./PN
