BACOLOD City — To accommodate taxpayers during the holiday season, the Bacolod City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) will accept real property tax (RPT) payments on select non-working days, including Saturdays and holidays.
City Administrator Atty. Mark Mayo said the move aims to give taxpayers ample opportunity to settle advance payments for 2026 and avail themselves of the 20 percent discount for early payment.
“Due to the number of non-working days in government service this holiday season, the CTO will continue operations to ensure taxpayers are properly served,” Mayo said.
Taxpayers who pay their land tax before the end of the year are entitled to the discount, he added. The CTO has already announced that its office will be open on December 29 to receive RPT payments.
“If necessary, we can adjust by adding more working days, as employees will just file for overtime. Our priority is really to accommodate taxpayers despite the holidays,” Mayo said.
Earlier, the CTO–Land Tax Division announced through its social media page that it will also accept RPT payments on Saturday, December 27, and on December 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Taxpayers may also pay at the city’s satellite offices: the Government Services Express (GSE) at the third floor of SM City Bacolod, and the Bacolod Express Services Office (BESO) at the third floor of Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
Meanwhile, the city reminded the public that penalties and surcharges will be imposed on RPT payments made after March 2026, once the discount period has expired.
Mayo urged taxpayers to settle their obligations early to maximize savings and avoid additional charges, noting that timely tax payments help fund the city’s programs and services./PN
