
ILOILO City – A dead man was found floating in a river in Zone 2, Barangay Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo district on Friday morning, December 26.
Arevalo police identified the victim as Marvin Andrade, a 45-year-old resident of the district’s Barangay Sta. Cruz.
In an interview with Marvin’s brother, Rodney Andrade, he said they were celebrating Christmas together the night before, adding that he last saw him alive during their drinking spree by the riverbank.
Early Friday morning, the family looked for Marvin but only his pair of slippers was found in his home.
Rodney later discovered his brother’s lifeless body in the river at around 6:30 a.m.
The victim was believed to have been drunk, fell into the river and drowned.
Police added that Marvin’s body showed no signs of injuries.
The victim’s family, meanwhile, was convinced there was no foul play in his death./PN
