ILOILO City – A total of 421 new police officers took their oath at Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado here on December 16 and 26, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6), administered the oath of office the new patrolmen and patrolwomen.
Ligan said these neophyte cops – 301 under the recruitment attrition quota and 120 under the regular quota for 2025 – mark a significant addition to the police workforce in Western Visayas.
“The new personnel would help ensure and sustain strong manpower and enhance operational readiness,” he added.
The region’s top cop congratulated the successful applicants and emphasized that the oath-taking signified a lifelong commitment to serve and protect the people with integrity, discipline, and respect for human rights.
“Congratulations to our new patrolmen and patrolwomen, and to your proud families. The road ahead will be challenging, but it will also be meaningful. Stand firm, serve faithfully, and always remember to serve and protect is not just our mission but, it is our promise to the nation,” he said.
He further reminded the new officers that wearing the Philippine National Police (PNP) uniform entails responsibility, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to public service./PN
