ILOILO — Defying national odds in one of the most demanding licensure tests in the country, the College of Law of West Visayas State University recorded a flawless performance in the 2025 Bar Examinations. All its 12 examinees passed, posting a 100-percent passing rate for the university.
Official results released Wednesday by the Supreme Court showed that every member of WVSU’s Batch Kadampig successfully hurdled the Bar held on September 7, 10, and 14, 2025, a feat achieved amid a nationwide passing rate of just 48.98 percent.
The result places WVSU College of Law among a select group of law schools that managed a perfect showing in a year when only 5,594 out of 11,425 examinees nationwide earned their licenses to practice law.
The 12 new WVSU lawyers are:

The 2025 Bar Examinations also marked a milestone for Philippine legal education, drawing record participation. Out of 13,193 registrants, 11,437 candidates took the exam on the first day alone, underscoring sustained interest in the legal profession even as the Bar continues to evolve under reforms introduced by the High Court.
An oath-taking ceremony for the successful examinees is scheduled on February 6.
At WVSU, faculty members, students, and administrators gathered at the College of Law Moot Court to await the results via livestream. Newly appointed dean Atty. Ian Thomas M. Besana was present with members of the faculty as the results were announced.
The perfect passing rate extends WVSU Law’s strong Bar performance following the earlier success of Batch Bana-ag, reinforcing the school’s growing reputation in regional legal education.
“Congratulations, Batch Kadampig! This accomplishment not only reflects your individual efforts but also the collective spirit of the WVSU community as you embark on your noble pursuit of justice and service in the legal field,” WVSU said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the pioneer batch of the University of the Philippines College of Law – Iloilo City Campus made history after all four of its graduates—100 percent of its examinees—passed the 2025 Bar Examinations.
