DENNIS Trillo defended his wife Jennylyn Mercado and his parents following allegations that both sides are unable to get along.

Trillo took to his Facebook page on Saturday, January 10, to clear Mercado and his parents, reiterating to not stir any drama between them. The actor’s statement comes after rumors of a rift between the actress and her in-laws made the rounds of social media.

Sa mga hindi po nakakakilala sa aking asawa, isa siya sa pinakamabuting tao sa buhay ko. Isang pribilehiyo na ako ang pinili niyang makasama habang buhay,” he said. “Ang mga magulang ko naman ay may edad na po. Hindi din sila showbiz at tahimik lang sila na namumuhay… wag naman sana sila bigyan ng isyu.”

The “Green Bones” star stressed that he, his parents, and Mercado are on good terms although they couldn’t meet as frequently due to busy schedules.

Trillo then urged the public to “focus on being a good person,” adding that there “are more important things” to worry about than their personal lives.

Mahal na mahal ko po silang lahat at maayos ang samahan namin kahit di man kami madalas nagkakasama dahil sadyang busy ang aming mga schedules,” he said.

“2026 na po, mag focus nalang tayo sa pagiging mabuting tao. Madaming problema ang ating bansa na mas kailangan nating pagtuunan ng pansin. Maiksi lang ang buhay, piliin natin maging masaya at mabuti araw araw,” he continued while ending his post with the hashtag “Maging Mabuting Tao.”

Trillo and Mercado tied the knot at a civil ceremony in November 2021, and welcomed their daughter Dylan Jade a few months later. The actress also shares one son named Alex Jazz with ex-boyfriend Patrick Garcia.

The Kapuso star continues to be recognized for his portrayal of Domingo Zamora in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Green Bones,” the recent of which at the Asian Academy Creative Awards where he won Best Actor in a Leading Role under the Asia and the Philippines category.
