
ILOILO City — Anti-illegal drug operatives apprehended two butchers in a joint buy-bust operation in River Plains Subdivision, Barangay Lanit, Jaro district at around 5:53 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13.
Authorities said aliases “Boy-Boy,” 33, and “Chris,” 29, both residents of the same barangay and tagged as high-value individuals , were found in possession of nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and three knot-tied plastic bags of suspected shabu weighing approximately 220 grams and valued at around P1,496,000.
Also recovered were P8,000 in buy-bust money and non-drug-related items.
The operation was executed by the Iloilo City Police Office’s (ICPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Captain Roque C. Gimeno III, in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, ICPO’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, and Iloilo City Police Station 3.
The suspects are now in police custody. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, specifically Section 5
(Illegal Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 26 (Conspiracy to Commit Illegal Drug
Offenses), Section 11 (Illegal Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12
(Possession of Equipment, Instruments, Apparatus and Other Paraphernalia for
Dangerous Drugs)./PN
