
ILOILO — Authorities apprehended a construction worker listed as one of Iloilo Province’s top 10 most wanted individuals for attempted murder on January 19 in Barangay Poblacion, Calinog town.
The 32-year-old suspect, known by the alias “Kevin,” was arrested at around 4:30 p.m. by elements of the Cabatuan Municipal Police Station (MPS), with support from the Calinog MPS. The arrest was executed under a warrant issued by the 6th Judicial Region in Janiuay, Iloilo, dated July 18, 2024. The court recommended a bail of P120,000 for his temporary liberty.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan commended the operating units for their successful operation.
“This accomplishment sends a clear message that the law will always catch up with those who choose to break it, while also giving our communities a renewed sense of safety and confidence. To the men and women behind this operation, thank you for your professionalism, sacrifice, and perseverance,” Ligan said.
He added, “To the people of Western Visayas, rest assured that we will not rest on our laurels and will continue to pursue criminals to ensure the safety and security of our communities.”
The suspect is now under the custody of Cabatuan MPS pending the proper disposition of his case./PN
