MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was monitored by doctors overnight after experiencing what Malacañang described as a minor health concern, Palace officials said Thursday.
According to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro, the President was placed under observation at St. Luke’s Medical Center late Wednesday as a safety measure after reporting discomfort.
“The President spent the night under medical observation as a precautionary measure,” Castro said during a media briefing.
She added that doctors advised the President to rest while keeping him under close watch.
“His doctors advised rest and monitoring, and his condition remains stable,” she said.
Despite the episode, Castro said Marcos continued performing his official duties and has since returned to Malacañang.
Asked about the specific nature of the discomfort, Castro said she was not informed of the details but assured the public that the President is doing well.
“Siya po ay nasa maayos na kalagayan at mamayang hapon po ay magkakaroon pa po siya ng dalawang pribadong meetings,” she said.
Castro noted that whether Marcos will remain inside the Palace and avoid public engagements will depend on the advice of his attending physician./PN
